5G-MILNET Officially Kicks-Off in Greece!
On Monday, 10th of July 2025, the 5G-MILNET project – A portable, private, high-performance, secure, robust, resilient and rapidly deployed ad-hoc tactical 5G and beyond communications system for military operations – held its official Kick-Off Meeting in Athens, Greece.
The meeting was chaired by Nicolas Blasakis from ADAMANT, the project’s Coordinator, and brought together representatives from all consortium partners: PLEIONE ENERGY (Greece), eBOS (Cyprus), ECLIPTIC (Cyprus), IQUADRAT (Spain), ATHENA (Greece), EURECOM (France).
The agenda featured presentations of the project’s overall vision, detailed work package overviews, and discussion on the following technical implementation steps.
5G-MILNET’s overall objective is to establish on-demand, reliable, and cost-effective next-generation communications for European military forces on the battlefield, utilising rapidly deployable 5G nodes strategically placed and operated autonomously without the need for fixed infrastructure.
