5G-MILNET Project Pre-kick-off Meeting
On Monday, June 12, 2025, the 5G-MILNET project – a portable, private, high-performance, secure, robust, resilient, and rapidly deployable ad-hoc tactical 5G and beyond communications system for military operations – held its virtual pre-Kick-Off Meeting.
The meeting was chaired by Nicolas Blasakis from ADAMANT (Greece), the project’s Coordinator, and brought together representatives from all five consortium partners:
PLEIONE ENERGY (Greece), eBOS (Cyprus), ECLIPTIC (Cyprus), IQUADRAT (Spain), ATHENA (Greece), EURECOM (France).
The agenda featured presentations of the project’s overall vision, detailed work package overviews, and discussion on the following project steps. 5G-MILNET’s overall objective is to establish on-demand, reliable, and cost-effective next-generation communications for European military forces on the battlefield, utilising rapidly deployable 5G nodes strategically placed and operated autonomously without the need for fixed infrastructure.
eBOS is leading the design definition of the 5G-MILNET’s architectural components and specifications task, ensuring they meet military operational needs while overseeing the development of an AI-empowered Software-Defined Perimeter (SDP) to protect the interconnected devices from cybersecurity threats. Additionally, eBOS will coordinate the interoperability testing of system components to ensure compatibility and seamless collaboration between them.
